Hemostasis of Land - First Stage of Healing
Professor George Newlands
Hemostasis of land is a proposal for a Nuclear blast memorial. It is situated in Rajasthan, India where India conducted its first nuclear tests. The proposal is designed keeping in mind the destruction that occurred due to the blast and offers a design solution for healing the land affected by it. The healing occurs through the process of phytoremediation. The proposal uses nature as a primary force to depict destruction and healing. The interaction between humans and the explosion craters is designed through a series of experiences using a rusted Corten steel wall, that serves as a reminder of the menacing aftereffects of the blast.
