It is believed in the Middle Eastern region that the use of geometry in patterns, along with sharp edges, has the ability to deflect the evil spirits and pierce a passing evil eye or eye of envy. This theory inspired me to work with illusions in patterns since illusions do have a deflecting effect to them. With the use of black and white lines as well as layering, the patterns become illusive enough to deflect the eyes in a contemporary way. Additionally, those illusive were then integrated into my fashion brand RAYALMU.
